Just thought I'd let you know the money I was able to save on this. My 1987 33 had a heater core bipass pipe on it when I bought it, indicating a leaky or blocked heater core. I reconnected it the other day because the air is turning cool here in Melbourne and I wanted to see the problem. Green coolant started dripping into the passenger footwell which is the usual spot for a leaking heater core. I took it to a local Italian specialist who quoted $300 for repair (new heater core). Instead of this I drove to KMART and bought "Seal-Up" (a radiator/ heater core/ cooling system leak stopper and sealant for $8.95) and added that to the coolant expansion bottle and drove with the heater on full blast for 30 minutes. Next morning the heater worked perfectly well with no leakage, and 2 weeks on it is still working perfectly (touch wood!). Saved myself $300 so try this if you ever have a similar problem. _________________ Alfa 33 4c 1.5 Gold Cloverleaf 1987

Does that $300 include fitting the heater core? If so, how many hours labour do they allow? I'm interested because I found removing the ventilation unit in my s2 33 was a not-very-fun job, and to do it without breaking anything I'd have to have removed the dashboard.. |

yes the $300 included supply and fitting - I thought that was steep but perhaps not if there is several hours work involved. I thought you just unbolted the old unit from the engine bay and put in a new one - I was not aware you had to take apart the ventilation system! _________________ Alfa 33 4c 1.5 Gold Cloverleaf 1987
