I am nearing completion of my 16V engine rebuild.
Whilst considering all the things I could have screwed up, it struck me, how does oil get to the little ends/pistons?. There are no holes in the big end bearings so it can't go up there.

I think you mean Gudgeon pins.
These pins don't need alot of lube, taking into consideration what they actually do. Most of their Lubrication is from Splash from the crank in the sump.
