|

HI All. I have a chip for sale which came out of the ECU from my crashed K reg P4. I am almost certain that it is an aftermarket chip, as it has a handwritten sticker on it saying 33 16 Valve. Also my P4 drove very well and was very quick and it had none of the hesitancy or jerkiness associated with the 16 valve engines. Come to think of it the engine noise was different too. The garage I use for repairs and servicing seems to think it is an aftermarket chip too and I would have fitted it to my current M reg 16 valve, but that has a CAT and the P4 didn't so the garage reckoned it wouldn't work. Anyone want to make an offer??
Also I have several other bits and pieces for sale including an OMP back box for a 16 valve (not the P4!!) - open to offers and I also have the 4x4 ECU (rear one) from the P4 for £20.
Other bits:-
Mk2 leather steering wheel £5
'Permanent 4' rear hatch script £10
some trim bits, rear light cluster etc- just ask!
Cheers Paul |

Hi Paul
I hope this doesn't burst your bubble but my chip also has a hand written label saying 33 16v. Could they all be like that? I too was convinced that it was an aftermarket chip but now I'm not so sure. Do your numbers match these?

Does anyone else know any better? |

Hi,
my P4 also came with chip inside ECU.
Hand written
S37D
33 16v.
So it may be that many P4 came from factory with hand written 33 16v label on chip.
And this one had fuel cut off which made P4 rather jerky. _________________ Tino Vatavuk

I may well be after your ECU for 4x4, but have you also got your electro magnetic coupling available? Does it come away from the gearbox easily, and could/would you sell it seperately? _________________ Regards

Dean - I have left a message on your answerphone with my work number on it, please give me a call with how much you want, and where I can collect from, and I will probably have one. I need to do some miles on my P4 to finish the running in, so distance isn't (too) much of a problem. _________________ Regards

Matt - Always a pleasure to meet another Alfa owner.
I would be very interested to know how you did your front brake coversion. And I'm sure many other 33 drivers would like to know as well! So if you have a few minutes to spare perhaps you would be kind enough to post an article which explains the set-up, who supplied the parts, what it would cost...etc.
Many thanks. Dean |

Dean - I did post some pictures in the general section, it features a picture from under the car, which shows the caliper and the bracket, from behind the wheel.
I wouldn't use an alfa 75 caliper again, as parts were a nightmare to source, such as the pistons, seals and anti-rattle pad retaining pins etc. The better/cost efficient option would be to use a caliper from the people who made the bracket and disc. They were highspec motorsport (.co.uk if memory serves), who do a range of parts/calipers that will fit under any wheel/strut combo.
The following picture is of the caliper, but my server is down for the moment, so look back at some point in the future, I'll fix it when I'm back from NY.
