33 Series 3 :
Yes, that stoopid outside door handle lost it's linkage, so off came the interior door panel and I greased everything and put the handle back on the bar.
However, the 'fit' at the top of the interior panel on the door has always been poor.
Along the top of the stripped door there is the edge where the rubber goes on. At the top of the interior panel there is a white plastic strip. I've now slotted this strip on the window side of the edge - voila... perfect fit - no more floppy door top!
But, now I cannot get the window up or down due to the glass being squeezed between the two rubbers too tightly.
So, basically, should the white strip be on the window side of the door top edge or not?!?!?!?!? And if so - do I need to whack the top edge with a hammer to make the strip and rubber fit properly!?
Thanks!
