I removed the pulleys with the help of a U-shaped rod fixed in the vice when the heads where loose but now they are mounted on the block and I can't use the same method. Does anyone have a clever solution??
Oh, it's a 16V boxer.
Regards

Hi
there is an Alfa too to lock the pulley wheels together (makes changing the cam belts easier). There should be a generic version of this tool available. Think there is a piccy on the tools page (link above)
All the best

Always meant to ask, are these special tools freely available? _________________ 16v p4 In pieces. |

Hi
They are available, and not too hideously expensive (£10~£20 range for the special tools I have bought), but can take a while to arrive. Some took over a year
All the best
