Hi all!

I was wondering if there is a way to make the power windows in a 33 series 3 move faster.
I opened the door panels today and used a contact improver (stabilant 22) on every contact I could

find. I also checked all the cables and they seem brand new, but still my windows are a bit slow (I

guess that is common for a 33...).
When I try to move both windows at once they move even slower.

Is there an easy way to do this (without changing the motors)?
Has anyone here ever tried to change the motors?
Got any info?... Maybe some photos?

Thanks guys!

Don't just assume dodgy electricals. It is worth greasing the mechanism in the door itself, and making sure the channels in the door frame, where the glass goes up and down, are clean, free from dust and grime.

A little WD40 seamed to sort my bosses Primera out, when his electric window was very slow. The groove the glass rides in became full of dust and gunk, with a little WD40 and a tooth brush, it all seemed to magically start to run free again.

I sprayed the moving parts of the mechanism with some expensive lubricant but I didn't pay much attention to the channels because they looked reasonably clean.. I think I'll try that too.

Thanks Matt.

i have done this on 2 s2's and 1 s3 33.
on the s3 it turned out that someone had tried to fix it before me and had bodged teh whole thing up. i got a second hand window mech and motor and installed that. its fidderly butnot that hard.

the s2's just needed oil/greese to help them move. i also used the dyson to clean out all the crap that had built up in the door and gave it all a light covering of wd40.

seemed to work after that.
if you can possibly get it working without taking the mech and motor out then i would. its not a nice job to try and put in stright.

good luck.
