I'm looking for a set of lowering springs for my 1991 Alfa 33 1.7 16v
cloverleaf.

Can anyone email me or post some links to some companies that sell/make them
(I'm in the UK) - I really don't want to pay the £150.00 odd for set of
eibach springs - links to discounted suppliers welcomed!

Many thanks

John

I've tried Rally Designs and think they are off till the new year - waiting time.

Have also been reading your message footer:

Where'd you get the flux capacitor from?

Hi

I too could do with some front springs. Need some for the P4 as they have sagged with age. They are £22 each from Alfa, but are no longer available. I do not want lowered springs though.

All the best

I once read (probably here!) that lowered springs are definately not a good idea on a P4.

P4s are "nose down" by design, are you sure your springs have sagged? I certainly thought that was the case with my front springs until I saw a few other P4s with their noses on the ground and arses in the air like mine (the P4 that is!).

Hi

Check this:-

http://www.alfa-pages.co.uk/Fiche10/MF330004GB0100082.gif

The P4 front springs are the same as the 16V QV. The real difference is at the back as although the springs are the same the bottom spring pan is on top of the axle, so lifting the back end up about 1".

The normal cars have springs that are 10mm longer, yet the front end of my P4 is over 30mm lower than a 1.3 car I have on the drive (measuring from the centre of the wheel to a point on the wheel arch).

Also my car is suffering badly from the springs being lower, resulting in a massive amount of negative camber and the insides of the front tyres rapidly disappearing.

All the best

Keith
