It depends on what engine you want, and availability in your area.
If it is a carbed 1.5 or 1.7 then they shouldn't cost too much as there are likely to be quite a few around, in scrapped mk1 33s and from Sprints or Suds.
An injected engine will cost that bit more because there aren't likely to be as many around.
What do scrap cars fetch in your corner of the world. The engine price will be closely related.
