Overheated valves?

Hi all,

recently I removed the heads of my s3 1.4ie to replace the head gasket. What I noticed about the heads, were the white colored smaller (exhaust?) valves. I've learned that the white color comes from the much higher temperature of the particular valve, but is this normal in case of the exhaust valves or is there a problem (coming up).

If it is a problem, is it difficult to remove and later reinstall the valves without special alfa tool?
