I need a rear wiper motor - preferably one that works!

O you're gonna have fun tracking one down that is 100% complete
Been there last year
or AR do not stock, you can get one imported from Italy for £120 new!

Beware series 2 SW is different and the Saloon does not fit

Have you tried rebuilding it - the electric motor may be good
but the accentuator stuck (they stick you know!)
Be very careful about the outer sleeve that the large nut
clamps down on - it fractures VERY VERY easily

Re, your last comment dd, err...too late

I had been told that the spindle bit seizes up, took it partially apart, sprayed it and got it sort of working. Then it stopped so I decided to take it further apart, and I discovered, as you say, that the thing fractures somewhat easily!

So, I have found a source of recon motors from Edd (£40 +vat +£5 post, exchange), but also a secondhand one working at half that.
