Just got my P4 going properly yesterday (ex Luke Anthony car?) which has made me very happy.
Anyway which plugs are supposed to be fitted to the 16v boxer and which go the best without fouling/damaging the engine
Whilst we're at it, are the standard golden lodges the best for the 8v carburreted 1.7 _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV

Hi,
The best practice is to stick to the original spark plugs by Spica: Golden Lodge 25 HL.
It has been proved a good spark plug which is also used for other Alfas as well.

Hi
You can use the Golden Lodge plugs, but on a 16V you want the 25HLD plugs (normally used in the 75 TS).
Alfa recommended plugs were NGK PFR6B in the catalysed cars (think the 24V 164 used these plugs as well), or Bosch F7DTC in the non cat cars.
All the best

I have always had problems with Golden Lodge (8-valve boxers).
Hick-ups at low revs, startproblems, running on 3 cylinder and...
I have used simple NGK B7ES or Marelli CW78LPS (not totally sure about the Marelli-variant description). This includes running a supercharged boxer with 0,9 bar.
