Front struts - koni inserts or whole NK units

i have to change front struts in my 33 1.4ie '91.

I can purchase whole NK (http://www.nk-autoteile.de) units or koni inserts at similar price. what choice would you suggest?

Are koni's available for version with lower cap laying on flat bearing
(yellow one Smile? - i can't imagine sawing off upper part of such strut...

If koni is the choice - are there any tips for such replacement?
Maybe anyone who already did it could scan and mail me assembly instructions that came with koni inserts?
