Hi
Just changed the front bumper (hit a wandering pheasant, not good for the 33 or the bird!) - what a pain! Every bolt either shears off or is very very stuck. On both the broken one and the replacement (£20 from a local scrappy!). Cannot believe that only 8 small, comparatively easily accessible, bolts can cause so much hassle!!
Still, after many hours, all done and lovely.
However, while down there, I wondered - how does one access the washer bottle and the motors for the screenwash?
Do you have to remove the inner wing shield? _________________ cheers

Hi,
Yep, in order to dismantle the bottle you need to take out the plastic cover of the arch. It is very simple to do so as it is held by 4 if I remember well, plastic tabs.
Then you need to undo two bolts one located at the firewall's union with the wing and the other one on a metal plate which holds the bottle itself with the chassis - then you can take out the bottle along with the pump.
It is a small device size like a bottle of correcting fluid.
It is adviceable to clean the bottle well enough as dirt is accumulated inside. Also be sure to have with you silicone in order to apply it in the union of the bottle and the edge of the hose that comes from the engine side (there is an o-ring that after the years it becomes hard enough and not sealing completely). When I had done so in my car it then used to leak from that union when refilled and I had to remove it again to apply silicone letting it dry for a couple of days before refilled.
Hope this helps _________________ Thanassis Gritsopoulos

Hi
Cheers for that info, I will do it when I find the time - but the headlight washers haven't worked for months so the pump is prob in need of TLC / replacing (I sense another scrpayard visit!)
