Not sure what plug that is. Do all of the lights work?

That plug is floating loose in my engine bay too.
There are two wires going to my brake calipers on each side; I'm assuming when the brake pads are worn, the deadly brake danger light in the cluster between speedo and tacho will come on.
My car doesn't have Alfa Control, headlight washers, air conditioning or Gold Cloverleaf gauges, so maybe the plug is for one of those... Rolling Eyes

Bloody Alfa electrics. That brake warning light is the bane of my existence. Ever since I got my 33, which was and still is mint, I have tried to find out why that damn light keeps flashing - not quite rhythmic, but flashing all the time.

I've checked all the wiring, connections and still can't find the problem!! Clearly, I have also changed the pads and brake fluid to no effect. I'm thinking of just pulling out the bulb!

Hi,

About the brake warning light: mine used to come on when the reservoir wasn't filled to the max. During acceleration/cornering/braking the sender thought there's no fluid in the reservoir and caused the light to go on. Filling the fluid to max level solved it.

Just a thought.

I thought there must have been a reason my warning light had no bulb in when I got the car! Very Happy Rolling Eyes

Hi,

Mine also was lighting for some days when I discovered that the pad's cable had gone off its position and was touching the rim Shocked
It nearly cut it - I then wrapped it with insulating tape till I replaced the pads.

Regards,

I'm certain my brake sensor leads dont make it into the engine bay.

On both my P4 and 1.7'ti', the cables from the brake pads follow the struts up and into the electrical bulkhead, and not into the engine area.

If you have an S2 car it may be for a second windscreen washer pump, as the Ti had headlamp washers, operated by a second pump. If you haven't got the Ti, the chances are the loom is standard across the range, and the options are bolted on as required to meet the badge on the car.

To test, turn headlights on, and activate the windscreen washers. 12V across the pins (assuming the relays in place) would indicate it is headlamp washers.

On my '87 QV, the brake pad wiores enter from each fender and not from the fron of the engine bay. Is it possible that these wires are for a headlight wiper?
