I've got 40IDF twin Webers and on the right hand carb there is a fuel return pipe for unused fuel. (probably only needed when the carbs aren't tuned perfectly)
Should this pipe go back to the fuel tank or just duct back into the main fuel pipe upstream of the fuel filter?

The pipe can go back to the tank, or to the the fuel line that leads to the fuel pump inlet
