Hi Folks.
Any tips on replacing clutch slave cylinder.
Is there some reason why the arm coming out of the clutch would stay stuck in the 'on' position, as if the clutch pedal is pressed. Even with the bleed nipple open. Pressing the clutch pedal doesn't move the arm, could it be the slave cylinder has ceased or could the problem be at the pressure plate?
Mike.

Hi,
are you loosing oil? Brake fluid level droping inside bottle without apparent leaks?
It could be sticking clutch plate, but clutch slave cyl is usual problem. _________________ Tino Vatavuk

Clutch will remain engaged (on) if the slave cylinder cannot push the top of the arm back; thus pushing the thrust bearing into the release flanges to release the clutch and disengage the gearbox from the engine. If this is true either the slave cylinder is jammed (unlikely unless sitting without use for long time) or there is a leak from the slave cylinder or pipe etc (keep pushing the clutch and see if brake fluid level goes down/look for any leaks) or there is air in the system.(bleed the nipple valve with a pipe with a non-return valve and tighten the nipple valve without letting air get back in.) Hope this clarifies things? _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV
