I have reluctantly decided that I had better see if I can sell my 1993 red Alfa33. I have inherited a family Fiat Brava, rather a mundane car compared to the Alfa but at 70 it's maybe more suited to my driving capabilities.

I have had the car for 10 years, it has done 100,007 miles and has an MOT till September but is not taxed - I am driving the Fiat to see if I find it acceptable.

The car has a full service history with an Alfa specalist in Lincoln, BLS. It is an unmodified 1.7IE 8 valve. I realise most of you will be looking for 16 valve engines but 8 valve engines are more reliable, apart from cambelts/plugs etc the engine/gearbox have been completely trouble free. It is still on its original clutch, I had 2 Suds before the 33 and their clutches went after 60/70000 miles.

It has had the usual minor problems with electric windows, indicator relays and more significant problem with the power steering.

The paintwork has a little rust principally on the bottom of the drivers side doors, most of the paintwork has not been Tcut since new so looks pretty faded but I have started to Tcut the bonnet and it comes up well.

As I was not able to get to BLS in Lincoln I had a complicated MOT saga, using 2 garages one of which failed the front suspension arms for corrosion. Since then BLS have looked at the car and reckon the arms do need replacing. The sills are fine but the car is likely to need some welding underneath on future MOTs

The car is on my drive in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk and if anyone is interested I'd be happy to give more details/photos etc.

interested in the alfa, I live in bury st edmunds so am as local as you could get. Could you confirm whether the MOT is passed or failed pending suspension arms? Also what sort are money are you after? reply to email below
