Hey guys,
Written 3 emails with no replys, lets hope someone sees this one
What brake pads are people in Aussie using for the 16V as Bendix don't make pads for this car...?
Also does anyone have an ideas for brake conversions for the front. I've seen some use RX7 series 4 calipers and discs I think it was... brake performance is abismal on my Alfasud with 16V calipers.
thanks guys,

Hi
Fairly certain Bendix do make pads for the 16V (think that is what is in my P4). Whether they are up to race use is another question though
Think one idea to do is to use 75 calipers mounted onto the gearbox for the original disks. Either take the spacers out for the non vented Sud disks or get some vented disks to fit (I hear that some Ford Escort disks can be easily modified to fit, but that isnt really any use to you in Aus)
All the best

What pads do you use? If they are Bendix Metal Kings, they have quite a low coefficient of friction (about 0.3?).
On my sud I've used Ferodo DS3000 on the track. The braking performance was great - DS3000 have a c.o.f. of about 0.6! No fade problems either (used Motul race fluid). Pad wear was a bit higher than I'd like, but the standard sud pads are so small it's not surprising. Cold performance is o.k. too, but these are still not recommended for regular road use.

Hi,
I use DS2500 Ferodo's on my 16V with slotted rotors. When cold they are not good, but after a few applications they are warm and are great. _________________ Scott Sander

Hey Scott,
Yeah that sounds like what I am after. Where did you get them and what price did you pay... and for the rotors as well (are the DBA's?)
Thanks mate,
