Hi there,
After just cranking up my 1987 1.5 twin carb 33 after returning from holiday we drove home with no incident. But on pulling into the driveway we noticedlots of white smoke from the lower centre of the engine which smelled like coolent. I checked all the radiator hoses, but this seems lower, the smoke comes from bottom of the engine. Is there any water hoses down there which have may have come loose? The car's coolent bottle is not going down at all, and it is not overheating.
Any help appreciated!

| There is at least one short hose ontop of the engine underneath the air filter box which could have failed. If the smoke smelt like coolant then I guess you are probably losing some, even if you can't notice it yet by looking at the level in the reservoir.. |

Almost sounds like a water pump leak. Check carefully as you don't want a failure here.

Are there any core plugs under the engine? Could they be leaking onto the exhaust?
