Hi,
Clean with petrol or carburattor cleaner the perimeter of the throttle
Usually dirt from the oil fumes become solid and throttle cannot rotate easily.
Hope this helps _________________ Thanassis Gritsopoulos

If this doesn't work check butterflies aren't sticking. Just spray carb/injection cleaner in them. Had this happen once when I bought a secondhand 33. It was quite exciting taking my foot off the gas at 70 with the car deciding it wanted to do more than I wanted it to. _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV

the spark plugs are ok ? did you sent your car to a mechanic to see if the "electronic brain" is adjusted ? are the injectors working well ?

Hi...
Probably, no relation with your case, but on my very first 33 (an 1.3 single carb from 1985-MkI), once i experienced something similar.
My case, was that, car just camed back from mechanic, that was suposed to change oil. He drained, the sump, but forgot to fill it again. My oil pressure light was out, so car still managed to make 20/25 km. The car sudenly, started to rev like crazy, i droped the clutch and tried to turn it off... The ignition key, was out and engine still running and screaming like a mad man.
The end of story, for an brilliant car
Hope thats not your case...
