|

Hi all,
I am fairly certain i need to rebuild/recondition either both or one carb (webbers) The question is should i take it to an alfa specialist to do or just a carbie specialist. Im leaning toward a carburettor specialist as the webbers are not exactly that rare. Also what is a reasnoble estimate to rebuild them totally.
Please note I still need that Zender Stripping, Look at my post under wanted/forsale
Cheers

Cost depends on degree of rebuild. Given their age on your 33, they will need all gaskets, several o-rings, needles and seats to be replaced. The floats would be adjusted. If the spindles of the throttles and the angles of these plates are ok (usually are) then that would that. Aside from a solvent bath, nothing else would be needed. Try: THornbury Carb Services on 9480-2108 (they specialise in Webers), or Wilson Carb Service (Carlton) on 9347-3036). Both should have prices for set basic services. THe first one would be my preferred option; Wilson is a little more general. _________________ Chris Notsis |

Was just wondering, how difficult would it be to do it yourself? Have thought about rebuilding my own carbs, as I think it is about time, but is it really that complicated? _________________ /Michael

You can rebuild carbs with your eyes closed!
just do 1 at a time or you may be confused with were all the parts go.
It's an idea to have some carbi clean handy (buy it at any auto store)
some parts are fragile so it's good practice not to bash things
these carbis are not complicated, very straight forward and simple

try these guys for a quote on the carbi gasket set, they usually have resonable prices _________________ Molto Veloce! |
