Hi people

My cars still dead. does anyone know where the ignition module is? in the manual it said its by the distributor.but on mine it not there.its a non cat engine.this is doing my head in. i need help please

hi,

you have none it's integrated in the ecu.
check TDC sensor, and power supply to the ECU

Have you got power going to the coil? Had exactly the same problem (admittedly with a carburetted 8V) and found it was simply an unhappy wire.

Hi guys

yes found out today that the ecu does the firing of the ignition,i had power to the coil the other day,but will check in abit,plus im going to check the pump relay again.if its not that.im screwed.a mate sad about the crank senser.but i cant see how i can check if its working,as i dont have a meter.just a 12v screwdriver with a light.

thanks for your help chaps getting cold turkey,need to drive an alfa!!!!

And make sure rotor arm is okay as you would have exactly the same problem if this hads failed. Also not hard to change ECU if this were the problem. It can only be one of a few problems.

Hi Paul

checked the rotor arm and cap seem ok, they are about a month old,changed the ecu,which i know works and still nothing.all the relays working as i took the tops off and they where clicking when the engine turns over.still think it mite be coil or crank senser.will look on my cd manual to see how it unbolts from crank.
