Hey guys! I went to www.powerchip.com.au and found out there is a power chip for the series 3 16v. It can boot the power from 95kw (132bhp) to 107kw (144bhp) and torque from 151nm (111ft lbs ) to 170nm (135 ft lbs ) for $AU890. Hmm id do it, but are there things to look out for? It looks pretty safe and genuine..dont think its a bullshit company! I realy want to get it, because how else am i gonna get to 107kw without breaking the $1000 mark. I doubt an exhaust would get near 12kw..unless it cost heaps. Any advice?

Make the car breath better first, ie exhuast and intake. Exhaust first.

If you do get the powerchip, please let me know I'm interested in seeing what it is like.

The squadra chip is good. I have tested it and you do get a increase.

I'd get it handling better before going for power mods. 132bhp in such a light car is enough to be getting on with. Brakes & suspension first (well suspension as I've always found the 33 brakes fine with proper handbrake adjustment and genuine Alfa pads/disks bedded in properly, glaze them and yes they are crap, but a bit of wet'n'dry and rebedding and your back stopping again. Tried some aftermarket pads and apart from the Mintex (lasted 5K, ouch) they were crap (Ferrodo I believe & EBC Greenstuff (OK if your rotors are constantly molten)).

Hi

Sorry for going off-topic...

Gary, Does the handbrake adjustment influence the overall breaking? My 33 16v has ABS and discs all round, but the brakes aren't great...

What brand are the original brake pads and discs? might it be bendix?

Sorry again about the off-topic?

BTW, how does the squadra chip peform on a 137hp model? any clear improvements?

All the best

Sérgio
