Hi guys.
Can anyone tell me which engines were fitted in the series 3 sportwagons?
I would like to get hold of one (if I can find one) but have only ever seen 16v models and would prefer an 8v.
I have had a couple of series 2s in the past which were fantastic for work
(putting ladders on etc) and a normal family car as well but decent ones are thin on the ground now.

This was probably for Jokes section, but still.

S3 1990-92 SportWagon
- Carbed 1.3 8v
- 1.8 TD

S3 1990-94 SportWagon i.e
1.3, 1.5, 1.7 ie 8v
and 1.7 16v

These were made by AR facotry. How many types were imported/sold in U.K. and in what quantities, you'll just have to ask someone else.

Although the series 3s will be mainly fuel injection, not carbed and that does make a difference.

Hi Very Happy

You were all very lucky...

In Portugal, there was only the 1.3 engine. Sad
Series 2 & 3 only got here in 1351 cm3 engine, with carbs...
When the importer droped the 1.5 IE, it started calling this models (sedan & wagon) 1.4 and the electronic injection was introduced (making them 1.4 IE)...
Till today, i`ve only seen (in the "flesh")2 sportwagons with 1.7 engine, both beeing series 2 1.7 QV with French licence plates...

All the best
P.Camilo
