Hi all, nice forum you've got here, can't think why I've never found it before now....
I've got a 1.7IE, first registered in Germany in 1994, which I picked up at the end of '96 with 6500 km on the clock. After 5 years regular use, including business and private trips to the UK, it got neglected and only used for short runs for a couple of years, then got taken off the road altogether for another two years after the rear screen shattered one winter morning. 
I re-registered it last October, and drove over to the UK with it for an on-site contract. It's been doing sterling service since then, although it's surprising how the number of 33s have thinned out over the last few years (both in the UK and Germany).
I'm hoping to pick up new rear discs/pads and a wheel bearing before I drive it back to Germany in February (hoping that Mangos still have spares for the 33...). Longer term, I'm looking at a recon gearbox.
My first Alfa was a Sud 1.5 ti, in between that and the 33 I had a 164 TS Lusso.
If anyone sees a red, German-reg 33 in the Northwest in the next few weeks - that'll be me, give me a wave!
