I bought this car 2 years ago in England to put its injection engine into my wife's Sprint. It seemed the owner, who bought it in Feb 1998, had no idea how to maintain it, and could not afford to take it to a garage.

I enjoyed driving it back here to France, apart from the heater not working, in January! and when I realised how good the body was, I could not resist doing some long overdue maintenance.

I gave it new timing belts, water pump, thermostat, alternator bearings, rebuilt the power steering, removed its wide wheels and lowered suspension, fitted correct, near new suspension and shocks, new strut bearings, a set of proper alloy wheels, new front tyres and old rears from the Sprint, and replaced most of the brake system.

After I did these repairs, we liked it so much we have been using it as our every day transport ever since.

Regretfully, I am now taking it off the road, as "Continuous Registration" makes it too difficult to use a Brit car in France, and put its engine into the Sprint. We also have to reduce the number of cars we have, I can't move in the garage.

Any offers to collect from near Carcassonne in France (Ryanair costs peanuts to here, we can put you up for a night if necessary) in the next few weeks? Everything works except the mirrors. Hardly any rust, no bodyshell cracks, paintwork has a few blemishes. A crease on the top of LH front wing where I drove against a shutter retainer sticking out from the front of our house.

If anyone is interested I can put the Sprint engine, which is fine, into it to make it useable, if not I will strip it for parts useable on the Sprint and scrap the rest.
