|
|
Hello,
Can anyone tell me what the average running temp is as my 33 engine seems to run a bit too warm - about 100c and up to 110c max whilst driving..
Is there any way the thermostat can be removed??
The engine is not exactly fitted in an Alfa 33 body..
Many thanks. |

For a start, make sure you have two fans running and the cooling circuit unchoked. Even without modifying the termostat, the water temp shouldn't exceed 100! If so, water should be boiling out, if not, check sensor as well. _________________ Each time I speed I say, "Dear lord, make me fast and accurate..." |

Thanks,
I've got three 8" kenlowes on a quite large rad, which kick in at about 85c but still doesnt keep the temp from creeping up to 100c.
I've bought an oil cooler from thinkautomotive, which should be my next step but I'm just wondering what I could do in the meantime..
Do you know anything about bypassing the thermostat?? |

Try the HEATER!
Open the windows (if it is warm for your own comfort!) and start the heater and blower. If the water temp. drops, there something wrong with the engine cooling (blower defect, temp sensor defect etc). _________________ Two type II 33 1.3s SW www.meisenbacher.nl/auto.html |
