Heres a pic or two of my P4 being refurbished...
as i bought it:
home, weakcyl4, and noisey followers, so engine out:
just the first signs of rust...
Engine, suspension and s/rack and wiring all out, ready to prep and repaint:
Hope i can remember where everything goes...

How weak was that cylinder? What were the symptoms?
(I have noisy followers and two weak cylinders in my 33..) |

hi Ben,
syptoms were uneven running, lack of engine power, just wasnt pulling well...(didnt sound right either)
so i bought a compression tester (cos just by taking off spark-leads i couldnt be sure which one was running weak) no4 cyl was 110 compared to 150psi for other three.
Strange thing is when i stripped engine down i found number 2 cyl had a bent inlet valve! so it was probably leaky h/gasket or poorly seating valves...
Have ordered new valve, new piston rings, head gasket set, and spent a few hours grinding in valves... (am waitin on parts now to rebuild it).

thats one wing painted...
and the motor cleaned up ready to rebuild...
Hoping to get it done for SAD...
