Welcome to the forum,
You'll never need to look too far for help on keeping your 33 on the road as there are many experienced chaps on here that know their stuff. Another good site is www.alfa-restoration.co.uk with good step by step repair manuals.
Where in the world are you? and posting some pics of your motor is mandatory Wink

Lee,

Not entirely true about being a defector.... I've checked my "spare parts shed" and worked out that, whilst in thousands of peices, I still technically own most of the parts which constitute a complete 33.

I'm thinking about getting a sprint at some point, so BLAH Laughing

I'll let you decide Wink

@Lee - I missed an opportunity to plug my own site there!!!! What a plonker. Thanks doode. Cool

Really need to shift some of these bits actually. I have a couple of doors, a fuel rail, a bootlid (although Stedee probably wants that back Wink ), a front grille, side skirts, replacement gear linkages (x20!), various pipes, lights, clusters, phew....

And a box of new "stuff" which came from Alfa Romeo direct, to replace aging components on my 33 which I've never even opened!

Maybe it's time for a stocktake! Rolling Eyes

Bobbber,

Please open the box of new stuff, and post in 'for sale and wanted' what you've got. You probably have a better stock than AR themselves, parts are getting trickier by the day Evil or Very Mad

Be very careful with Sprints. They are probably the sexiest Alfa made ever, and very alluring. Trouble is they make even alfasuds seem like scimitars when it comes to rusting.

My father had an 85 sprint clover from new, and there was rust on the sills on collection (I'm not joking). It went on to gradually break his heart until by 6 years old and countless remedial jobs the 'a posts' were found to be pretty much rotten away. He then sold it to me, who had the posts welded up and fitted new wings.

i kept it in reasonable shape thanks to literally gallons of waxoyl over the next few years.

My brother got charmed by an 82 chrome bumper in the late 90s and despite the warnings, he bought it, and watched it rot away, and spunk his wages away in welding for a couple of years.

Having said this, i saw an alfasud today for sale that looked really good. i had to be very strong, and drive on!

Lee,

You seem to think the boot on a GTV is large enough for a fuel rail..... why might this be?

Hi Chap's

the boot in a gtv is a joke.the spare wheel fills most of it up.

Ok John!

I have no spare in mine. It's surprising how much WILL fit in there (due to it's depth) but the main problem is the size of the opening.

i.e. It can store loads of water, but a pasta twirl may not fit.

Surely you kept the tow bar off your 33???

I think a GTV with a trailer is a good look Laughing
