|
|
Hi,
My g/f's P4 is in the garage right now for a major "better safe than sorry" service, including belts (the bane of my life).
There are 4 tensioner wheels, and the mechanic pointed out the two at the bottom of the block are pressed onto a bracket each either side. Problem is he was struggling to get the old tensioners off and snapped one of the cast-iron brackets. He mentioned something about a technical update/upgrade to this - does anybody know anything about it? Or does anyone know an easy way of removing these tensioners without stressing the brackets? They appear to push on instead of bolt on!? |

For someone who will soon attempt cam belt replacement on a 16V I found a site that says that a good vice can be used to press them off. I don't know anything of a technical upgrade to fix this. Anyone know of any other good guides for cam belt replacement?

If you order the whole thing I think they Alfa send it along in pieces anyway, so Alfashop where I got everything from just send out the bearing for economy....unless you break the bracket of course. |
