|
|
I took the 33 out for a spin this morning for a laugh. Discovered some beautiful roads and the car was going really well with the fresh morning air. Towards the end of my journey I approached a familiar 'test corner.' This corner is a bit like a section on a figure-of-8 Scaletrix track and you can really see how far your car will go before understeer sets in. I was really impressed with the 33, it appeared to have endless grip and I continued to push the car until I experienced total power loss. In order not to unleash the front of the car I managed to open my exit curve slightly but still the fuel wasn't being fed to the engine. It took about 20 seconds of lumpy driving with about 20 bhp before dropping a cog managed to get the fuel pressure back to normal. I have had similar problems before but never this severe. Does anybody know what the problem is? |

If it's injected the baffles in your tank might have rusted and dropped off.
Or hard cornering its disturbing rust flakes from the bottom and blocking the filter.
Or fuel flow is too low in the circuit. |

My thoughts exactly! Need a new tank and filter. |

hi!
if you have rusth in the tank, it's likely the sock filter at the bottom of the suck pipe has become clogged.
the filter and gauge is sold as a whole unit, so you perhaps want only to clean it.
besides, if your car is 1.3ie, you have a fuel vapor control system, which has a propension to fail over time and the breather gets clogged.
better put a little motorcycle fuel filter on the breather pipe and let the fuel vapors flow...
