Hi,
As the list of pending 33 jobs are gradually getting ticked off, this Sunday afternoon ws spent slipping in the brand new front shocks i got in about January from Ebay.
My '93 16 valver has the late struts (upward rotation) with solid base pans.
There are far fewer components, and no strut pan bearings. (i'd bought these- doh).
The bearing is right at the top instead, and i'd guessed the same yellow bearing would be used in some way, but it's not. It's integral in the big lump that the parts cd calls a 'pad' (i think).
Having heared horror stories about compressing coil springs, i laid everything horizontally, and worked at the side. Very glad i did as one of my crappy cheap Ebay compressors did slip at one point, and it's like a f*cki*g bomb going off!
All done now, and a on quick spin it feels much much better. I had a miss-matched pair before (NS only replacement done by predecessor ), and the original OS was clapped out i think.
What's next...
Cheers,

Do you want to sell the strut pan bearings, John?
Also, I've still got the rear half of your spring set Stedee if you sell them - just postage required. _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV

Hi,
I'll probably hang on to the bearings as my Dad still has the S2 based Minari.
Doing the shocks was well worth it. On a proper 'blat' the car now turns in and stays level at the front like my Sud did way back!
One question is- Are the yellow plastic brgs in question a replacement for something else originally fitted to the struts?
