Strange noises???

i have a 1991 33 16v injection p4,and im having problems with the engine,if when its ticking over i put my foot slightly on the go pedal(around 2000 rpm),it splutters,coughs,and nearly dies,push it past this and its fine,the same happens when driving???.i've replaced the rotor arm,dissy cap,new ht leads,plugs,new oil,engine flush.also,i have a sort of ticking noise,which go's above2800-3200rpm.and then it sound raspy!!.
