Got a small problem , my alfa 33 1.5 series 2 is all up and running now but after about 5 minutes running the oil light comes on when idling through to about 1800rpm, could this be a clogged up oil pickup in the sump or one of alfa's classical electricl problems, either way dont want to risk not taking notice of the indication.. Is it worthwhile taking the sump off to inspect the oil pump pickup or can you guys suggest something else..The motor has been run regularly since changing the filter and filling with new oil but car was sitting around for about 2 years prior to cranking up again, (blocked Oilpump pickup)?

Found the problem it was broken oil pressure switch, replacement was easy and it also cured the problem of oil leaking on to the exhaust...  |
