I know I know, the electrics are a nightmare, but there must be simple solution to my problem, surely!!! Alfa 33 1.5 Veloce ('87)
The car starts up no problem, stick the radio on and then (not always, 50-50 situation) if I indicate the radio cuts out and then comes back a second or two later all crackely (indicator still going) which stops once the indicator is turned off. When the lights are on, it may or may not decide to let me listen to the radio, again all crackely and if I indicate the radio cuts out comes back and only becomes "normal" when I stop indicating. If the radiator fan comes on then the radio cuts out and blinks at me stupidly.
I realise that there must be bad connection, earth or something but would appreciate some help. Where should I start looking and please let me know exactly where to look as I'm not too mechanical.

Firstly I would check the earth on the radio.
Then check & clean earth on the bat.
Also there is a block of earth wires near the fuse box (all black wires) clean these.
Basically check and clean all earthing connections that you can find.
