Hi!
I'm about to change my clutch. I was planning to fit a racing clutch from OMP. I saw two type's in the catalog: disk with torsion springs (6 slots), and rigid disk (24 slots). What is the difference between them? Which one can I put, or they both fit?
Thanks! |

Hi Neo,
I don't know difference between that two types, but I know that (you might know of him) Sasa Aksentijevic (lives in Ri,) once owner of 1.5 4c 33 series 2, put OMP race clutch in his car.
And his clutch needed a lot of preheating to start clutching, it was maybe some 15mins before clutch would stop sliping?
And yes he had problems with driving that car uphill early in the morning.

Hi,
The difference between the 2 clutches is, that the one with the tension springs will be more forgiving when driving away. When releasing the clutch, the tension springs will be pressed, so that the gearbox will start to turn somewhat slower. The tension springs will absorp the first bang. The other one is more a sort of on/off clutch and will be harder to drive.
I am looking for a OMP clutch myself, but after reading the story about warming up, I don't know what to do. It could be true, because OMP really produces for the racing industry rather than for road use
Did you already fit a OMP on your car. And if so, how does it work?
Greetings
