Hi. new to this forum but Ive been knocking around on AO for a while now. Anyway, Ive been rebuilding a 1500 boxer and all was going well until I went looking for shells. Ive tried everywhere over here (Ireland) i can think of and have put a couple of calls into specialists in the uk but have been told its gonna be september before they can get any.

Dont suppose anyone knows of a supplier or happens to have a set laying around that they'd be willing to part with?

Thanks in advance

Frank

Hi Frank.
Give Alfashop 1603 426277 or Mangoletsi 01565 - 722899 a bell. I've been enquiring for shells for the 16v and they both had those so might have yours too.

Welcome by the way Wink you'll find more help here than AO Laughing

Don't forget there are two different colours of shells depending on the thickness. Red and Blue - they are both different part numbers too.

I bought a set for my 8v 1.7, i havent even opened the plastic bag they cam in as i didnt get to rebuild my enging at the time. If they are the same used for my 16v then i will keep them, if they are different and will be of use to you, then they are yours.

Yeah the one's I'm looking for are the red ones. Apparently I'm just a bit too late. Suppliers who had them a month ago cant get them now. Ive still a couple of leads to follow up (thanks for the heads up RBL) but its looking like its gonna take a while to source them.

I ended up getting a set of original alfa shells off a guy on another site who works in a main dealers Surprised Couldn't believe it as my local dealers want nothing to do with the car (nor would I let them near it)

Thanks for the help guys hopefully this'll see the 1500 up and running and see my car back on the road.

Will have to pop down to you with it at some stage. I'm not just 100% happy with it though as its very slightly tappetty on one bank. Gonna have to do some homework and find out what size shims i need to see if i can hush it a little.

Hows the sprint coming along?
