The dashboard switches on the Imola have no illumination for the symbols, others have none for the ON position.

They rectangular switches, not square as on the 1.7.

On removing the swiches, I can see the small bulb for the ON light, but cannot remove it, as it has two wires going out of sight, and I can't see how to open the switch any further without breaking it.

Can any one tell me if it is possible to replace the bulbs, for both the ON light and the symbols, and if so, how to open the switches.

Are the symbol illuminations LED's?

Thanks, Al, I did a search but didn't spot that post of yours.

I guess the only way is to sacrifice a spare switch, if I can find one in the breakers, and cut it up carefully to see if it can be glued together again after fixing the lights.

Plan B, I will see if the square switches from the 1.7 will fit the holes available. I think there are enough blank positions in the Imola dash to accommodate the extra width needed.

I'm not yet sure if the square switches are repairable, but at least some of the symbol lights work. It's not too handy having none of them working.

Last resort is some sort of external illumination using blue shrouds from a spare instrument panel.

I managed to source a free switch, but have yet to pick it up. No one replied to my post Crying or Very sad fingers crossed for this one.
I was tempted to take mine apart but didnt, but as i have a spare i could try for you, save you damaging yours.

I cannot see a way of taking them apart without breaking them, just want to replace the light that comes on when ignition or lights are turned on as light to show its on works fine.
ZeNiTh-PbArM you still about to guide us?
