Hi,

Managed to get a brand new (pattern) boot spoiler the other week on Ebay very cheap Very Happy , it even came in primer Very Happy

As the Mrs is away with the little 'un for a few days, i thought i'd seize my chance to get it painted, without being b*llocked for filling the house with paint fumes Wink

Used acrylic base, and single pack laquer. Praying it wont go Crazier than a night out with Kiss like the old one. I think that was due to rush job and over thick primer/filler shrinking Embarassed

Old crazy

In primer as it came

Fresh Painted

Flatted/compunded and tcut

Fitted

Cheers,

John

Hey John,
What exhaust have you got on there? I assume it's the tail pipe I can see at the back of the last pic?

T-cut the whole table Laughing or replace it with a white classey plastic table and matching chairs.

It's a supersprint - details here- http://www.alfa-pages.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=5551

I've been trying to sort the bumper. I made a new cutout which is way too big for my liking, so need to think of something like a bit of aluminimum to graft in too. I made a little fill-in panel for the original cutout from the chunk i cut out, which i think looks ok.

Hole like a wizards sleeve-

John,

Dutch product... HG - Hagesan "Beeswax". Bloody expensive, but I've never used anything else like it. It comes in three "colours"... you need the brown one.

New spoiler looks the nuts mate. Very Happy

Cheers.

How's the p4 going? Think the last installment was the jacking point needing attention. Ready for Gaydon in September?

John,

Probably not mate... and as I now have a Rover 25 in place of the GTV I think I'll be parking in the "sad section".

Anyway... the P4 is taking a rest (or rather I'm taking a rest from it). I have a garage going up soon and will continue work then.

is this a fibreglass spoiler?
If so do you know if they do one for a series 1 bootlid.
It always niggles me that I have got a fibreglass tailgate and perspex rear window and the damn std spoiler weighs more than the rest of it Confused .
Problem is I dont think it looks as nice with out it. Bit too much like a Volvo 340 Shocked

Hi,

The pattern one i got is still a lump of rubber, but is a fair bit lighter (like half the weight) of the original.

I can't find any make or anything on the box i'm afraid. I think it was a one off from a car accessory shop.

There are similar ones on ebay from Greece i think, if you do a search on 33 boot spoiler and find the international sellers- however these are about £90 - i got mine for £12+post which was extremely lucky.
