Glovebox manual suggests 2.2 / 1.8 for 16v 1.7s, 2.0 / 1.8 for 8v.
Is there a suspension difference that requires this extra pressure or is it just to firm up the front end to make the 16v feel 'racier'.
Our car has the Alfa / Speedline faux splits rims with 185/60 14 Pirelli P4000s.
Absolute handling is not so important and I'm finding the 33 a bit harsh at the moment (especially over Hampshires' third world roads) and am tempted to try 2.0 / 1.8.
What are other people doing?
Cheers. _________________ '93 Black 33 1.7 16v |

The 33 is a bit harsh on anything but the smoothest tarmac
I tend to run my 16v on 32 psi as I prefer a harder tyre. not sure what that is in bar though. Also that's going by a gauge on the foot pump that may not be the most accurate in the world |

32 = 2.2
29 = 2.0
26 = 1.8
By the way, not many people know that google does conversions, try entering something like "3 furlongs in mm" into google.
A decent pressure gauge is only £10 - 15 and is well worthwhile, the ones on foot pumps are often a good 5psi off.
Just took the car for a run at 29 / 26 and it felt much better. _________________ '93 Black 33 1.7 16v |
