Hi,

Changed my leaky 7 year old slave cylinder today.

Followed advice (from gritsop??) on Bobbbers site, and can confirm it's very good avice. Biggest tip is to wedge a bit of wood in to keep the fork back i.e the clutch fully depressed equivalent. If the slave is completely shot, you may not be able to do this- but my goodness it helps.

i took off manifold and oil filler tube for acces, and it's still fidly but by turning the circlip anticlockwise a bit in situe managed to get a decent pair of (squeeze to open-recommended for one hand use) circlip pliers in.

John

Glad you found the site useful! Very Happy

Some additional good advice (if you're using a used cylinder like it did) is to give it a good rub down with some fine sandpaper..!

Not sure it would be possible on a 33, but on a 75 I used a ratchet strap to operate the clutch arm.

All the best

Keith
