|
|
Looking to do my first event in the 1400 at Unity farm near Brean Sands at the end of Jan. One problem I have got is accommodation. The event is spread over 3 days and the organisers suggestion is B&B on site at £55 / head, min of 4 people i.e. £220.
Does anyone know of a caravan site open, holiday cottage / flat close to Brean where we could stay for a lot less than that. Just seems a lot to me. Last week I was near Brecon doing my Safety Officers job on SS10 & 13 (Halfway) on the Wales Rally GB and 5 of us had a cottage for a week for £180. Any suggestions appreciated.
Will let everyone know If I get an entry and decide to do event. If I dont I am looking at doing a rally the weekend after in the Forest of Dean.

I'm sure you could stay somewhere cheaper there mate. Brean is full of caravan parks and stuff. Or try Burnham-on-Sea...

What I am finding is it is "out of season" so they are shut. Still looking but it might just be easier to go and do the forest of Dean rally instead.

A pity as the beauty of a single venue is that you do a stage and then back into service. Nice to keep an eye on a fairly new engine.
On a forest rally you start and it could be several stages and 50 - 75 miles before you are back in service.
Looks like it is Forest of Dean here we come.
Go down friday afternoon.
Sleep in the tourer and my mates camper somewhere.
Rally on Saturday
Home Saturday night.
