Is there a gearbox dipstick or is is just top up till it overflows. Where are the various plugs?

hey Jeremy
It is fill till it overflows, the cap is on the top front right side and i think its an 11mm allen key. The drain is in the middle back bottom.
I normally put a piece of garden hose in the filler hole, routed up through the engine bay and attached to a a funnel. I put a drip tray underneath and fill. Someone else should be able to tell you the amount needed.

I think it's a 12mm allen key. Razz
While you're under the car, tighten all the bolts around the edges of the removable plate on the bottom of the gearbox. They like to loosen and contribute to one of several possible escape points for gearbox oil.

oops, my bad, 12mm is the same as the engine oil drain plug, cant believe they used the same size. I think i used a ratchet spanner on an allen key socket, as its a tight fit, was a while ago, hope i got that right.
