I have a series 3, 33, 1.7 16v 1993 (UK) and I would like to know how to fit a coolant temperature sensor. Also if anyone knows of where to get hold of a workshop manual for my car that would be appreciated. |

Whats the problem you are experiencing? its unlikely to be the sensor itself, most likely the wiring connections. _________________ Alfa Sprint QV - Gone to a better home and in happier health for it

It’s hard to start sometimes, you really have to give it plently of acceleration. When I have started it, it sounds terrible, noisy (tapping) and very rough. When driving in low gears around town it hesitates, is very rough and doesn't want to go, it basically kangaroos and jerks and I end up having to dip the clutch to stop it. I can tell it wants to go but its being held back and then nomally a surge of power comes through. It seems to have a flat spot. Sometimes when doing 70-80 on motorway you can feel a slight jerk, but the problem generally disappears at higher speeds/revs.
It started playing up after I took it for a service at a local Alfa dealer. I have changed the spark plugs, HT leads and lambda sensor, plus many garages I have taken it to just cannot solve it or they don't notice it! If I had a workshop manual I would be able to think about it and look about the engine better. Can you help? I am getting to the point when I might have to get rid of it. It’s a great car and I enjoy driving it but it’s starting to seriously annoy me. |
