|
|
Dear all,
I have recently replaced my lambda sensor with a new bosch one n my 1.5ie. The car though does not run properly with irregular idle and high CO emissions.
Why is that can somebody comment on that?
What is the correct part number for the bosch lambda sensor (starting with 0280 xxx xxx)?
Finally what is lambda correction and is it something needed to be done when replacing the sensor?
Thanks in advance!!! _________________ 1994 Alfa 33 1.5 IE Cat. 220.000Kms and still going strong!!! (Από την Αθήνα και τώρα στην Λευκωσία) |

Bit of a stab in the dark, but try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. This may reset the ecu (does on 16v), then it may take new settings from new lambda.
Hope that helps.

Was everything ok before you replaced the lambda, why have you replaced the lambda sensor?
I was having the same problem, I think it was a faulty new lambda sensor, I haven’t had a chance to try out the warranty replaced one on an emission tester. My emissions are ok with no lambda correction.
High co indicates too much fuel, high HC's indicate unburnt fuel.
Lambda correction is where the exhaust gasses are analysed for oxygen by the Lambda sensor "also known as O2 sensor" Based on the gasses found it will either increase the fuelling or decrease the fuelling to get the correct O2 output.
The O2 sensor can be fooled be air leaks before the sensor and the gas analyser by air leaks in the exhaust system.
Someone else posted a link to the following, which I thought was a good read.

I don’t know much about the 1.5ie. _________________ x2 33 16v
