On the ser 3 console I plan to use the ABS light for my T2 check light.
Does anyone see any problems with this or advice?
The connector for it is on the left block and is 3rd down, i cant figure out what connector to use for the other side as it seems common to everything "comments on it being the earth common to everything are welcome" I'm not sure where to connect the - from the T2 tester, i dont want to short anything out _________________ x2 33 16v

Hi
If you are really worried then I would suggest using the actual T2 connectors (to the LED normall) to trigger a small relay, and then just use that relay to feed the non common wire for the light on the clocks. Also limits the current draw from the bulb.
All the best

I just thought that maybe i could just use the + from the T2 connector and connect that to the 3 3connector down on the left block connector on the console. MY thinking is that the other side will be connected to an earth, what do you think? I am looking at making it as simple and easy for others to do. _________________ x2 33 16v

Hi
Possible, but the bulb probably draws rather more current than an LED on the normal diagnostic lead.
All the best

I just had another thought to make it even easier , inspired by bobbbers mahoosive pic of the wiring diagram. I could just connect to the connector to the ABS light on the wiring loom, provided the loom would be the same.
Could someone please tell me where the connection on the wire loom is for the ABS light?
There are at least 2 connectors that are not connected on mine. _________________ x2 33 16v

Thanks to Keiths suggestion, i have looked in the wiring diagram http://www.alfa-pages.co.uk/Manuals/33_Wiring.ZIP and found
page 240 abs warning light D27
page 242 abs connector g124
page 246 abs light connection on console
page 248 identifies instrument panel C10A & C10B
I think that pin 2 on the abs connector (g124) is the one for the abs warning light (d27) pin 4, indicated by GV. The other side of the warning light (d27) is indicated by S
Please help, i have no idea what im looking at.
The console doesnt look like a ser 3 because on mine there is a block connector in the middle which has 8 connections, one block connector on the left which has 7 connections and one block connector on the right that has 2 connections, and one single connector that the red loose wire connects to. _________________ x2 33 16v

I can now fit the ser 3 console as the mileage is now correct, minus good white dials and chrome rings and get on with the T2 tester ABS warning light. I thought i could use a continuity tester between what I think is the ABS connecter in the bulk head and the connector on the back of the console. Then I can do a dummy mock up with the T2 tester and see if I get any flashing. _________________ x2 33 16v

Well i had a go today, I just pushed in the spades from bobbers Ts tester and temporarily wired it up, it works with a bulb but didn’t do it for long as I know LED’s only allow current to flow in one direction. I can confirm that with a bulb if you use a common earth the bulb will be lit all the time, whereas if you use the earth from the T2 connector it flashes as it should. I also tested with one of my dash LED’s and that worked ok, so if I could find out how to connect it to the ABS light you wont need a resistor as the LED’s have one built in.
Any suggestions?
I couldn’t find out if the purple/black wire in the engine bay is connected to the purple/black wire in the dash as I couldn’t determine with the continuity test “I turn my DMM to diode test and see if the readout fluctuates” as it seemed to fluctuate wherever I put it??
Any suggestions. _________________ x2 33 16v

Possible that the dash changed for later cars. I do have the wiring diagrams for the later series 3 cars but not scanned them (took long enough to scan the early series 3 diagrams).
All the best

Instrument cluster (C10)
Light on instrument cluster (D27)
Connections on instrument cluster for light (C10 A) pin 5
Connections on instrument cluster for light (C10 B) pin 4
ABS connector (G124)
I can follow one connection for the light.
D27
C10A4 S = Pink, goes to G95D pin 12 on the fuse box, then where?
D27
C10B5 GV = Yellow Green, goes to G124 pin 2
Am I to assume that the wire that goes to the fuse box is the live feed, if so what wires do I wire where? Do I wire the – from the T2 Tester to the Yellow Green wire on the ABS (G124) connector? Or the +, if so what do I do with the other end of the T2 Tester?
I don't have the 4 pin (G124) connector, i have a 6 pin connector
i assume is (G270a) with the following wire colouring
1 grey H
2 grey green HV
3 yellow red GR
4 purple black ZN
5 grey yellow HG
6 grey black HN
The only other 6 pin connector is by the relay bank by the battery and is connected
