The rear screen washer has not been working on my car for a few weeks. The pump motor was still operating but no water came out.
I got a spare tank and pump from Paul at the weekend and pulled out the old tank to change them over. However I discovered the old tank was full of pond slime!!! On pulling out the pump (push fit in a grommet in the bottom of the tank), its inlet was totally blocked with brown goo.
I've cleaned the whole lot out and it's now working fine.
Goodness only knows how the slime got in their in the first place, no light and no nutrients in the water, bizarre!
This also means I didn't need the spare tank from Paul so if anyone else does you know where to come! _________________ '93 Black 33 1.7 16v |

This used to happen on my GTV all the time. Even when I used a high concentrate of screenwash, after a while, these little greenies were living in it.
This caused havoc with the filter which constantly got clogged up... I sold it in the end! _________________ Fiat Bravo 165 Sport |
