Hi there,
I'm Charlie and i could well be wrong but looking at some of the other posts here i'm guessing i may well at 23yrs be one of the youngest, i live in sunny sunny Cornwall, England. for the last six years i've been a Projectionist in cinema's all over Cornwall and worked in a couple in Devon too, right thats quite enough about me.
Cars..... well being as young as i am i haven't had many starting with an ax(954cc) awesome first car until it went all french on me and died(brought for £200) then came the 106mk1 or ax with a different body that lasted a week before the gearbox gave up(brought for £20) then a R reg escort brought from a scrap yard flew through m.o.t and sold four weeks later for £550) (brought for £200) then ahhhh the rover 820i chuckle bloody road boat! but hey lasted 6 months before the head gasket gave up(brought for £70 sold for scrap at £50) then B reg polo, god aweful car hated it nothing worked ever and the head lughts would have been better if i'd lit some candles!!(brought for £65) then came a rover metro 1.1 which was not too bad until the gas shocks went, the exhaust fell off the brakes failed and the electrics went on a tea break! good job i'd already agreed a price on it with a local garage for part exchange on a mk1 mondeo! chuckle bet they were curseing me for a few weeks! so yes mondeo what can i say? it was like a driving coma, you would set off from one place and end up where you wanted to be, but god knows what happend in the middle. Sadly though late last year the mondeo suffered from cam belt tensioner failer and died.......................four days later what pops up on ebay? red 33 series 3? 16v? cloverleaf!!! oh yes!!!!! starting bid £300!!! does anyone else bid on it????? i think not!!!! bargain!! and so now 9 months into alfa ownership its all gone horribly wrong them cam belts hey! but thanks to alex 33bits she running again just got to put her in for mot this week and i'll have back, shocking the local boy racers again!(try and over take me will you 1.2 nova? no no no)
anyway hi all and thank you so much for all the info posted here helped no end putting the engine back in!!! cheers!!! _________________ series 3 1.7 16v Green Cloverleaf |

Hi Charlie.
Welcome mate. This is the best forum for all your 33 needs. Never mind with all those other inferior sites claiming to be of help but really turning out to be as much help as a chocolate teapot.......ahem, alfashiteowner.com
I think I may be meeting Alex soon (end of Sept?) and gather you may be there too? If so, see you then for a bit of 33 chat although I must warn you I'm well into my thirties and quite old by your standards! (slippers and pipes at the ready ) |

Hey Lee, i'll see if i can get a tweed jacket and a flat cap for the drive upto Devon (i wouldn't want to stand out being as hip and trendy as i am ) but i'm looking forward to it Alex was telling me how tidy both yours and his cars are(think i may park mine round the corner and walk the rest).
Thanks Johnboy, glad to be a part of it. i think your right what the members of this site don't know about the 33 probaly aint worth knowing i've spent the last week or so scannign through the site and i think thanks to all of you my 33 has a fair shot at passing its mot! _________________ series 3 1.7 16v Green Cloverleaf |
