Thanks Al, I remember your uber emissions thread well.

Are those figures from your car or from some 'official' source for all 33 16v.

Actually looking underneath it looks like only a 30 minute job to swap them over which opens the possibility of just putting a cat sction in to get through the test.

What year is Kreg?

In France you can put a tube on models before 12/1993 and still passes emissions. I presume it's the same in the UK as it's european regs, but I'm not sure.

I wish Laughing Laughing
those figures were from the pdf scanned from the alfa microfiche by a member here i think.

To fit a cat section you will nead a crossover 16v manifold with 2 bolts on them. Non cat sections are sleeved and 8v cats are 3 bolt.

You lucky bug ger to be able to find a mot tester that would do that Laughing
what resulst are the readings btw, close to what the manual said?
When i first bought my 33 it was also de-catted, when i went for my mot the garage said it should have a cat, i contacted dvla and they confirmed, so i had to source manifold and cat. I guess the previous owner also knew an mot tester, grrr im jealous

I got a cat from my local factors, just about to fit it and I realise they've supplied me with a three bolt flange one, i.e. an 8v one.

Got on the phone to them and their system is listing the same part for 8v & 16v. They are going to investigate with their supplier on Monday.

And their supplier is saying they can only do the three bolt flange one.

There is someone selling 16v cats on ebay for about £170 and the picture looks like it's the correct one.

Can anyone recommend any other sources?

http://www.alfa-pages.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=4512&highlight=sports+cat
original alfa ones retail at over £600

check out

If you can afford it i would get a SS one, as they always rot at the join at the end.
hope that helps
