In about a month's time my mouldy old leaking wooden garage will disappear to be replaced by a nice new (still woden) one of about twice the size.
I'm presently pondering flooring probably a good quality (i.e. not from a diy store) floor paint (e.g. epoxy) or maybe some sort of plastic tile or maybe vinyl.
I'd appreciate your thoughts, opinions and experiences. _________________ '93 Black 33 1.7 16v |

I wish I was pondering a new garage
Given the choice i'd just want good level smooth concrete. Unless the garage is just for storing the car, think about jacks, stands, dropped tools, dropped oil etc on posh tiles etc etc.
If you go for paint, try Arco- health and saftey firm with branches over UK. Mrs worked for them a few years back, they did proper industrial stuff.

I would go with a good quality floor paint personally.
Get your concrete as smooth as possible, maybe even trowel finish it,
then apply your paint.
Done a couple like this when I was in the paint n dec business and it works
very well on a non comercial floor, last for years. _________________ Presntly own

I'll say something different Jeremy just to spice things up!
Personally I'd go for a plastic tile. I've seen someone's garage done out in them and they make for a good wipe clean surface, will protect things to a certain degree if you drop them and are a tad warmer to lie on than bare concrete. I think the main thing to do is to make sure you have a good damp proof membrane below the surface you decide on. Damp and Alfas....... |
